This Week in Bento: March 22-25, 2011

Hey, everyone! If you missed it last week, check out Bento4Japan, the bento blogging communities way of raising money to help Japan. It's still going strong and there's lots of auctions still open! Click on the badge below and help out!

And of course I've been making bentos in the meantime... warming ones, since the temperatures in Chicago took a nosedive again. We even had some snow (boo!) but at least the sun has been shining. So here we go, it's bento time!

March 22

3-22-11 Sesame Beef Bento

Leftovers from Chinese takeout always make a tasty (not to mention easy) bento lunch!

-Sesame Beef with Bell Peppers & Baby Corn
-Rice with Scallions
-Orange Wedges
-Mango

March 23

3-23-11 Adobo Wings Bento

If this lunch looks good to you, you're in luck!  I've got recipes for the wings and the dip.  These adobo wings are my absolute favorite; perfect for meals, snacking, and of course, bento!

-Spicy-sweet Adobo Wings (recipe)
-Creamy Blue Cheese Dip (recipe)
-Cherry Tomatoes
-Carrot and Red Pepper Slices
-Rice with Wasabi Furikake
-Kiwi

March 24

3-24-11 Grilled Shrimp Bento

There's lots of color in this lunch: just my style! ^_^

-Grilled Shrimp on a bed of Red Leaf Lettuce
-Garlic Bread
-Cucumber, Red Pepper, Feta Salad
-Orange Wedges
-Raisins

March 25

3-25-11 BBQ Chicken & Greens Bento

Here's a summer meal to encourage summer to hurry up!

-BBQ Chicken Leg
-Sauteed Greens with Red Onion and Brown Sugar
-Corn Muffin
-Orange Wedges

Have a delicious week, everyone!

  4. Hi Bunny! The first thing that comes to mind is Friendship, an excellent Chinese place (which is where the sesame beef in the first bento is from!). There's two locations; here's their site: www.friendshiprestaurant.com
